The Night of the Arts celebration was a fantastic night which included families, students, faculty, artists, and friends. Seeing the smiles on the students faces as they pointed out their art work on the walls to their enthusiastic parents was priceless. The henna booths kept the artists busy the entire night as students and guests took home some body art. Zombies, vampires, and other creatures roamed the exhibit as they left the special effects face painting booth. The music flowed from the DJ and coffeehouse performances which included dance, chorus, poetry, and other acts. In honor of the recent passings of David Bowie and Prince, the mocktail menu included a Lemon Stardust, Raspberry Beret, or a Mascarade Tea. Besides the bursts of color lighting up the 1st floor from the various artwork, community members gazed at the science fair and photos from the photography club. The baked goods kept the sweet tooth happy and finger sandwiches appeased bellies throughout the night. Event fundraiser t-shirts were high in demand and sold out quick. We were also lucky enough to be recognized with a surprise visit from the Manhatten Borough President Gale A. Brewer.
Thank you to the 9th grade team, Photography Club, Richard R. Green HS Administration and all that helped organize to make this 3rd Annual Night of the Arts a great night. Extra special thanks to those that went above and beyond such as the Mural Club, Dream Team, my advisory, Joyce Gendler, Gina Malanga, and Emily Stetson for your time and dedication to this event.

Close to completing the hanging of the show. Here is a little taste of some of the artwork chosen for the Night of the Arts. The long hours of preparation and planning of details is well worth the celebration for our NYC Art Community at Richard R. Green High School. #rrghst #brianbachisin #highschoolart
